Buy It For Life
A platform built around
products worth keeping
Online reviews are broken. Paid placements, fake ratings, and affiliate links have made it genuinely hard to know what is worth buying. We built this platform to fix that: a community of real owners, tracking real products over real time, with no ads, no sponsors, and no agenda.
Step one
Find products that last
Browse the catalog by category, community tier, or reparability. Every listing is built from real owner experiences, not editorial picks or sponsored placements.
Products are rated across four dimensions and assigned a tier: Heirloom, Proven, or Disappointing. Each rating comes with a confidence level: Settled, Maturing, or Early. The confidence level reflects the depth and maturity of the data behind it, not just how many people have reviewed it.
Step two
Read what owners actually say
The platform aggregates what owners write and surfaces recurring themes automatically. No cherry-picked testimonials, just patterns extracted across hundreds or thousands of reviews.
Each point is labeled with how many owners mentioned it and across which years. You can see whether a limitation is a long-standing pattern or something that started recently. You can also browse the underlying reviews directly, or filter them to show only those that mention a specific pro or con.
Step three
See how products hold up over years
We track real owners over time. The platform periodically checks in with reviewers to ask if they still own and use the product. This builds an ownership record no editorial review can replicate.
The community tier is also tracked year by year. If a product earned Heirloom status a decade ago and owners are still using it today, but newer versions are landing at Proven or lower, that pattern speaks for itself. Alongside that, you can see how long the people behind the reviews have actually owned the product, whether that is a few months or over a decade.
Step four
Coming soonSpot when a brand has changed for the worse
The Enshittification Risk Index measures how much a product has drifted from what it once was. It is built from community reports, grouped by theme, and only moves when multiple independent owners report the same issue.
A score of zero means nothing concerning has been corroborated. The higher the score, the more the community has documented change. Anyone can file a report; the platform surfaces it once the evidence is there.
Step five
Contribute your own experience
Tiers are only as good as the people behind them. You write in plain language; AI reads the signals.
-
1
Tell us how long you have owned it
Ownership duration and satisfaction over time are the foundation of every review on this platform. -
2
Write a short review in your own words
The platform reads what you write and uses AI to extract a tier for each dimension, along with a list of pros and cons. -
3
We check in with you over time
If you are still using the product months or years later, your review carries more weight. You can add to your experience as it develops.
For Brands
The Committed Brand Badge
Running a platform with no ads, no affiliate deals, and no investor pressure requires a funding model that does not compromise what it is for. That is why we propose to brands who value quality products to help fund it.
The Committed Brand Badge is an annual subscription and the only revenue this platform has. The badge never influences a product’s community score and holders have no influence over reviews.
What a Committed Brand gets
A spot in the Committed Brand filter
Shoppers can narrow their search to brands that have made the commitment.A direct link to their own store and website
Shoppers can go straight from a listing to the brand's own website.A "more from this brand" section
On their own product pages, the brand can showcase its other products. Our commitment
We will never sell what we are building
Here is what that means in practice.
-
Scores cannot be bought
A brand holding the badge gets visibility, not influence. Their products are rated by the same community, by the same method, as every other product on the platform. That will not change. -
Reviews are permanent
Every review is timestamped and kept. If a pattern of manipulation is ever found, scores are recalculated on the clean data. The record is never erased. -
Free for consumers, always
There are no paywalls, no premium tiers for shoppers, and no data sold to third parties. The only way to keep that true is to be transparent about how the platform is funded, which is why we tell you.
