Why we built this

What is broken

Buying something should not require this much work.

Finding a product you can trust today means cross-referencing Reddit threads, ignoring sponsored results, discounting reviews that sound fake, hunting for a YouTube video from someone who actually owns the thing, and still not being sure. That is not a discovery problem. That is a trust problem. And it is getting worse.

The best product is rarely the one you find first.

The first page of any major marketplace is an ad. The products you see first are not the best ones. They are the ones with the largest acquisition budget. And a brand spending heavily on sponsored listings has to recover that cost somewhere. It comes out of the materials, the warranty, the craftsmanship, or your wallet. Usually all four.

The pressure to cut never stops.

Margins get squeezed, competitors undercut, and shareholders expect growth every quarter. The easiest place to find it is in the product itself: thinner materials, cheaper components, production moved wherever labor costs less. No single change is dramatic enough to make the news. But over five or ten years, the product that built the brand’s reputation becomes something else entirely. The name stays the same. The thing inside the box does not.

What we built

Time is the only honest reviewer.

A product reviewed the week it was bought tells you almost nothing. A product reviewed by someone who has owned it for eight years tells you everything. We track ownership over time because a score without context is just a number. We want to know if it still works. If they would buy it again. If the company still stands behind it.

Accountability is the only thing that works.

No regulation, no certification, no editorial review has consistently stopped manufacturers from quietly degrading their products over time. But visibility does. When owners document the drift, when the data is public and impossible to bury, and when consumers can simply choose better, companies pay attention. This platform is built to make that pressure real and permanent.

Small brands deserve a fair shot.

A small manufacturer making something genuinely excellent has no structural advantage over a cheaper competitor willing to spend more on ads. When quality is the only thing that drives discovery, the brands that put their money into the product rather than into placement fees finally have somewhere to be found. That is good for them. It is better for us.
